I've been working some crazy hours and not sleeping well lately, so I'm generally feeling run-down.  N suggested I try some shots of wheatgrass to see me through the insanity, so we headed off to Jamba Juice. When A saw the process, she asked if she could try it.  You can tell by her face that she's not going to make that choice again.

I know you've seen this skirt many places, but that's because it's amazing.  I do prefer the blue to the red though.


Every time N and I walk by Michael Kors, we lust after the bags.  This one is no exception.

I have had this skirt forever.  I've had it so long that it doesn't have a label any more, so I can't even remember the brand.  I don't know where I bought it, or, to be honest, why.  It is so not me.  Just look at the colors.  And it's a pattern.  I was originally going to pair it with some textured tights, but I thought that would probably be going too far.  The jacket is rather boxy, so I cinched it, but since the skirt is a tie-wrap, it added bulkiness around the waist.  The shoes are a new favorite from Sole Society also seen here.  I am a dedicated Nordstrom's  shopper, so it's been really fun to follow what they are doing with their dedicated shoe "club."

I always thought that as I got older I would be less likely to engage in personal drama.  You know, the she said this about you that comes from a "concerned" friend who feels that you just need to know the hateful thing that someone said about you.  Who does that make feel better?  Well, it became clear to me this evening that getting older has not made it better.  On the contrary, added to all the uncertainty and personal angst that I'm currently going through about how I'm aging and what I look like, this type of situation is really painful.  You see, a person I don't even know told me that I am ugly today.  I don't know why.  I don't know what made this person feel the need to say this to me.  I don't know if she felt better after she said it.  I don't know if I'll ever hear from her again.  I don't know if she has any idea how much her short comment impacted me on an already stressful day.  All I know is, she made me stop and think about myself.  She made me wonder if I should stop doing this.  One of my friends always wonders why people have to be haters to feel better about themselves.  Today I wonder that too.

It's typical in California at this time of the year to finally break the summer heat with a cold rain storm only to be hit by weeks of Santa Ana winds and high temperatures.  This year has been no different.  Since I am always on the hunt to find products to help with my rosacea, skin texture and loss of firmness and elasticity, at this time of year, it's complicated by the dry winds and the beginning of heater season.  I decided to give Estee Lauder's Idealist a try again after having such great results with the Cooling Eye Illuminator. 



Immediately after I applied it, my skin felt soft and smooth.  My makeup application felt smoother, and my skin stayed this way throughout the day.  I do have to say that I really didn't see a noticeable difference in pore size, but the texture was a huge win for me.

I found this dress on Shopbop today and started putting together my outfit.  I love plaid on everything except for plaid shirts.  I just can't bring myself to do it.  But give me a plaid coat, scarf or dress, and I'm all over it.  With the cold, rainy weather in LA today (finally), this is what I wish I was wearing.  Either this or my robe while sitting in front of a fire and drinking coffee all day.
