Wow. January has been rough. First, with being sick and then working 12 days in a row, I feel like I haven't had time to think, and I have not left the house much the last few weeks. Because I've been too tired to even think about shopping, I've mostly been using and wearing things that I already have, which is again one of my goals for this year. I'll probably do another post about my goals for this year (late to that party, I know), but this one has honestly been one of my goals year after year, and sometimes I do well with it, and sometimes I don't. Midway through January, I have not bought any clothes this year. Hurrah! Baby steps you know...
On to the new things I'm using right now:
Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo
The kind people at Maple Holistics had previously sent me some of their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo, which I loved and reviewed on The Bespoke Stylist. Since I liked it so much, they offered to send me some of their Argan Shampoo to try as well, and I enjoyed this one even more.
Maple Holistics has some great samples just for you that you can choose here, and they also have an informative blog. I've been using a dermaroller for the last year to try to reduce the appearance of my scars, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a post about dermarolling on their blog. This post is a comprehensive article about not only the benefits but also the side effects such as irritation and how long it could reasonably take to see results and it answers the question that I always get from people, "Does it hurt?" FYI - it doesn't.
Kenneth Jay Lane Boxchain Bracelet
Okay, I've had this bracelet sitting in a box for a while without wearing, so long, in fact, it's not available any longer. When I finally put it on, I immediately loved it primarily because of its long, loose length and sturdy box chain.Hutch Coat
Part of my strategy to cut down on buying new clothes has been using Le Tote and Rent the Runway Unlimited memberships. I kept my last RTR shipment for longer than I usually do to try to get as much value out of my membership as possible because I did not want to give back this coat. I chose it on a whim never expecting to like the pattern as much as I do. I loved wearing this and got more compliments than I have on any piece in a long time.
Rimmel ScandalEyes Show Off Mascara
Not all new things are all good. I just can't get used to the round ball tip of the applicator on this mascara, and I've found the formula slightly dry. It does plump my lashes, but I prefer lengthening formulas.
Bath & Body Works Cinnamon Caramel Swirl
Go ahead and call me basic, but my favorite candles are all the sweet ones. The hint of cinnamon in this Bath & Body Works candle keeps it from being too over the top. I burned through this one quickly next to my desk during my work marathon.
